PRODUCT WASH GUIDE
Follow the steps below to keep your EE products looking & feeling new for longer.
We all want our new hoodies, tees or leggings to last forever. Seeing your favourite product come out of the wash with a weird mark, stain, shrunken and/or faded is a major downer.
In order for your favourite EE products to avoid these dreaded post-wash results, it is important to provide them with proper care by following the below steps. If you do, your EE products will be thanking you long into the future by remaining soft, clean and rich in colour.
ALWAYS WASH INSIDE OUT
We all thinking our washing machines clean our clothes perfectly forever without consequence. Unfortunately this is not the case.
Over wash cycles, residue starts to build up in your machine, which is unavoidable.
If this residue/dirt/grime comes into contact with your products (specifically products that contain polyesters) your product will leave the wash with more stains and spots than when it went in.
Turning your products inside out before washing is the best and easiest protection against this, as it basically ensures that the likelihood of the visible side of your product contacting these residues is almost gone.
NEVER USE FABRIC SOFTENER
Fabric softener, in our opinion, is the evil enemy of EE products and the world!
Not only are the ingredients potentially bad for your skin and the environment, they are also bad for your clothes and washing machine.
Particularly for products that contain polyester (pretty much all EE products do), fabric softener, when coming in direct contact with the article of clothing, will leave weird stains and discolouration after the wash cycle.
What's worse is that fabric softener stays in your washing machine for many cycles as it is not easy for water to break it down. This means if you use fabric softener for one wash and not another, the softener will most likely carry over to the wash where it is not wanted and potentially ruin your clothes.

WASH WITH LIKE COLOURS AND
ALWAYS USE COLD WATER
Cold water decreases the chance of your EE products shrinking or fading drastically. We strongly recommend use cold water on a gentle cycle when washing.
Also, if your products contain large prints, using hot water can also make them start peeling/cracking, as the heat of the wash cycle breaks down the materials in the print, ruining them.
Bonus, washing with cold water reduces energy costs!
NEVER USE BLEACH OR STAIN REMOVERS
Bleaches and Stain Removers (which contain bleaching agents and whiteners themselves) break down the colours in your EE products, leaving them with worse stains and marks than the ones you are trying to remove.
We recommend using baking soda or distilled white vinegar to remove stains, but always test on a small inconspicuous area of clothing first to make sure the agent is safe for your EE product.
AVOID USING DRYERS
Similar to hot water, the use of dryers is bad for your EE products and the environment. Putting products like hoodies and Tees in a dryer can warp and drastically shrink your products, and once they are shrunk they will never return to the shape and size beforehand. Dryers can also wreck prints and other logos on your products.
Dryers also use a lot of energy to function. Avoiding them can save you money on your electricity bills and also help decrease your carbon footprint. The natural way is the best way!
We recommend letting your EE products drip dry naturally in the shade.
